Job Description
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Provide in-depth analysis for critical failures related to the servo-mechanical issue, Hardware/Software troubleshooting, setup of existing or new capability supporting the organization.
- Facilitate Engineering Evaluations on design changes, component revision rolls, process verifications or any deviations in materials or components to ascertain effects or benefits on production line yield, scrap, cycle time, OQA and reliability performance.
- Develop, maintain, and update a working knowledge on component technology, manufacturing methods and parts application, providing technical information for a colleague.
- Participate in product and technology transfers between Designer and Manufacturing, Work with Design Engineering from San Jose and Fujisawa on Component Design Enhancements, Engineering Change, Evaluations and coordinate implementation in the Factories.
- Provide team leadership in task-force and action teams in driving critical issues/failure.
- In-depth expertise in the major function of the department supporting the organization on critical studies and issues.
- Derive and develop CA for future improvement on products by performing design change based on lessons learned.
- Ensure commonality or standardization among the same process or system within related manufacturing sites.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Physics
- Working experience preferably in the HDD or consumer electronics industries.
- Knowledge of MS-office, SPC, Big data platform, Minitab, JMP data analysis, MATLAB, Solidworks, GD&T, DOE, Mechanical Drawing Interpretation, electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
- Capable of performing mechanical stack-up tolerance analysis.
- Good understanding of team working and how to integrate with others to achieve objectives
- High quality of work and a good understanding of the impact of accurate data collection on failure analysis.
- Take personal responsibility for actions and provide support to a highly motivated team working at a fast pace.
- Uses communication skills to regularly exchange information
- History of problem-solving; able to drive problems to resolution
