Your Team, Your Impact

As an integral part of the Quality Organization, Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) is a specialized discipline within quality management that ensures suppliers consistently deliver products that meet defined standards. SQEs partner closely with suppliers to assess their processes, audit capabilities, enforce quality requirements, and drive continuous improvement. Acting as a vital bridge between procurement, engineering, and the supply chain, SQEs play a key role in aligning supplier performance with broader organizational objectives.

  • Manage Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and define qualification plans for new or modified components.
  • Conduct on-site supplier assessments and drive corrective actions.
  • Evaluate component-level reliability and lifecycle data.
  • Collaborate with design and test engineering teams to ensure robust component selection and integration.
  • Mitigate single-source risks by initiating second-source strategies.
  • Support failure analysis at the module and component level.
  • Drive root cause investigations and implement effective corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Understand full process flow from wafer fabrication to module assembly.
  • Monitor supplier process controls and yield metrics to ensure consistent quality.
  • Maintain inspection records, qualification reports, and supplier scorecards.
  • Present quality metrics and improvement plan to internal stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Optics, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing engineering, preferably in optical modules or photonics.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, PFMEA, SPC, PPAP, and ISO standards.
  • Experience with cleanroom protocols, ESD/MSD control, and component-level testing.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel across Asia for supplier engagement.
  • Knowledge of coherent optical transmission, silicon photonics, and high-speed optical components.
  • Experience with PLM systems and reliability modeling tools a plus.
