Assistant Manager (Cloud Engineer)

Roles & Responsibilities

·Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Azure and/or GCP. ·Architect and manage end-to-end cloud solutions across compute, networking, storage, and IAM/security domains. ·Drive serverless and containerized application deployments using Cloud Run, Azure Container Service, Cloud Functions, and Azure Functions. ·Configure and optimize networking components such as Load Balancers, DNS, VPCs, and firewalls for performance and security. ·Deploy and manage enterprise-grade data services including BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, Synapse, Data Factory, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Data Lake solutions. ·Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate provisioning, configuration, and compliance. ·Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps, integrating automated testing, security scans, and deployment strategies. ·Manage container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (GKE/AKS), ensuring high availability, auto-scaling, and observability. ·Write robust Python scripts and serverless functions to automate cloud operations, data workflows, and infrastructure tasks. ·Collaborate with architects, developers, and security teams to deliver cloud-native solutions aligned with business goals. ·Perform cost analysis and implement optimization strategies to ensure efficient use of cloud resources. ·Monitor infrastructure and application health using native and third-party tools, and implement proactive alerting and remediation. ·Ensure compliance with security best practices, regulatory standards, and internal governance policies. ·Lead cloud migration initiatives, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting legacy systems. ·Document architecture designs, operational procedures, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and operational excellence. ·Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability building through code reviews, knowledge sessions, and technical leadership. ·Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, DevOps trends, and industry best practices to drive innovation. ·Exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) tools and services is a plus, with the ability to integrate them into cloud-native workflows.

Mandatory  technical & functional skills

·Strong expertise in MS Azure and familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). ·Hands-on experience in infrastructure services (VMs, networking, load balancers, firewalls, storage, IAM). ·Experience with data services (databases, warehouses, data pipelines, ETL tools). ·Terraform proficiency for IaC. ·Python/PowerShell scripting for automation and data workflows. ·Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps. ·Exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) is a plus.
