The Position

The Subchapter Electronics Engineering as part of Near Patient Care Instrument Development develops and maintains electronics for both the diabetes care and poin-of-care devices of Roche Diagnostics. Within this subchapter we are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer for electronics to complete our Benchtop Electronics TEAM.

The Opportunity

• You develop electronic hardware from technical specifications through design to system integration, following internal development guidelines.
• You collaborate in interdisciplinary teams on concept studies, feasibility analyses, and mechatronic development projects.
• You define work packages, scope, effort, and timelines within the development team.
• You design and verify PCBAs, wirings, and cables based on unit specifications and upper level requirements.
• You develop and maintain hardware test equipment, setups, and automated test scripts.
• You create and update manufacturing and technical documentation for product development and lifecycle support.
• You collaborate closely with software, mechanics, fluidics, and other domain experts to ensure integrated system performance.
• You coordinate activities with external development partners and suppliers.

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• You have at least 5 years of R&D experience as  an engineer in electronics or mechatronic hardware development.
• You have strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design, EMC, safety, and reliability engineering.
• You have proficiency with ECAD tools (e.g., Mentor Xpedition) and programming skills in Matlab or Python.
• You have excellent analytical, experimental, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• You have experience in medical device or pharmaceutical product development; familiarity with healthcare regulations preferred.
• You are a collaborative team player with strong communication skills; fluent in English (German a strong asset); experience in agile frameworks and multicultural environments.
