The Senior Portfolio Manager, TA&A Operations oversees the administration of insurance and/or reinsurance accounts and contracts, from establishing and maintaining contractual data, processing the insurance and/or reinsurance account bookings, claims handling and manage the related cash flow. The role provides critical support and strategic guidance to underwriters in administrative activities relating to the underwriting and technical accounting process.
This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery across core operational and underwriting processes, maintaining compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, and driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
As a SPM, there will be expectations around coaching, training and supporting other PMs within the team (and globally) to support the Head of SBS TA&A.
Showcasing agility and change management while continue their learning and development will help support the adoption of new tools and process improvements, which align with SCOR’s Operational priorities.
- Responsible for the validation of facultative entries and ensure accurate updates within underwriting and accounting platforms, maintaining high standards of data governance.
- Oversee the correct input and audit of Terms & Conditions in the accounting system, implementing robust quality assurance protocols. Align with underwriters on policy language/terms and condition changes.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy in the recording of account and claims advices, driving accountability across teams.
- Serve as a senior liaison between Underwriting, Claims, brokers, cedents, and outsourced teams to resolve complex discrepancies and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
- Manage independently his/her own portfolio with medium to complex accounts and solves complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist.
- Manage cashflow including setting-up of client bank accounts in the accounting system, processing of outgoing/incoming payments and follow up on pending payments and open balances,
- Perform ICS controls (Internal Control System) according to relevant guidelines and pro-actively support Underwriters in the performance of these controls,
- Ensure compliance with sanctions and embargos by scanning respective lists and forward to Underwriter/Legal for further investigation if needed,
- Ensure completeness and proper filing of underwriting, accounting and claims documentation DMS (Document Management System)
- Maintain good communication with clients by attending internal and external meetings and workshops as required.
- Be accountable for internal and external audit purposes and support regulatory requests.
- Analyse and interpret internal reports to monitor client accounts and performance metrics, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Champion knowledge sharing and collaboration across internal teams and external partners, fostering a culture of transparency and continuous learning.
- Collaborate closely with peers and the Head of Technical Accounting & Administration to align operational priorities with business strategy.
- Communicate effectively and constructively with staff and leadership, influencing outcomes and driving engagement
- Provide guidance acting as a coach/ mentor across the team and foster knowledge sharing with cross functional colleagues to reach solutions.
- At least 5 years of experience in the industry (re-/insurance) accounting and underwriting assistance and/or controlling
- Bachelor / completed commercial apprenticeship (ideally in re-/insurance company) or equivalent
- Advanced MS Office skills (focus on MS Excel, Power Query)
- Power Bi, Foundry, Business Objects skills beneficial
- Extensive knowledge of Technical Accounting, Settlement, and Credit Control processes - demonstrating deep expertise in end-to-end technical accounting including premium and claims processing, reconciliation, and settlement.
- Skilled in managing complex credit control issues, ensuring timely cash flow, and mitigating financial exposure
- Advanced knowledge of internal business reporting
- Line of Business subject matter expert provides expert guidance on product structures, market practices, and regulatory implications ensuring operational alignment with underwriting and portfolio management goals.

Pay Range for roles performed in IL: $90,000-$110,000 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location,
experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation
