What’S The Role?

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join the Secure Network Services (SNS) team within our Technology division. This role is responsible for delivering standardised services in alignment with established procedures, automated service delivery framework, collaborating closely with SNS Tooling support, as well as build and run teams.

The successful candidate will provide essential technical support to facilitate the delivery of catalogue services, ensuring compliance with pre-defined SLAs and KPIs. A thorough understanding of service definitions, including their scope and limitations, is expected. The role requires effective engagement with stakeholders to confirm requirements and recommend appropriate networking solutions so that user needs are accurately translated into infrastructure specifications.

What do I need?

Essential:

  • At least 5 years supporting complex networks within large organizations.
  • Relevant vendor certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or F5 201.
  • Comprehensive expertise in Switching and Routing (BGP/OSPF, VXLAN, VTP), Firewalls (Juniper high-end SRX, Fortigate, NSX), Load Balancing (F5 – LTM, GTM, APM, ASM), Crypto PKI, and DNS.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking environments, including Azure and AWS.
  • Advanced analytical skills with demonstrated hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving network issues.
  • Proven background in developing automation solutions that interface with various tools and platforms via APIs or scripting.
  • Proficiency in Python, specifically for automation and scripting tasks.
  • Practical experience using Ansible, as well as CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions. 

Desirable:

  • Additional vendor certification such as CCNP or F5 301.
  • Knowledge of WAN technologies, including SD-WAN and MPLS.
  • Understanding of automation platforms and orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes—especially change management—and ServiceNow.
  • Experience working with MongoDB, Jenkins, Terraform, Solarwinds, and Elastic.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborative team settings and delivery roles, encompassing planning, implementation, change management, configuration, and build activities.
