About The Role
The Junior Compliance Officer supports the organization in meeting its regulatory obligations, with a focus on BaFin requirements. This role assists in day-to-day compliance tasks, helps ensure policies and procedures are followed, and assists in the monitoring of regulatory risks. Working closely with senior team members, the Junior Compliance Officer plays a key role in maintaining the firm’s commitment to integrity and compliance while gaining hands-on experience across core areas of the business.
What You'Ll Do
- Support operational activities in relevant compliance areas while aligning with BaFin’s regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with the wider Compliance team and business units to assist in developing and maintaining a best-in-class compliance program.
- Assist in monitoring investing products and related processes through periodic reviews to ensure they consistently deliver good customer outcomes.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the Compliance Monitoring Program (CMP) by preparing reports, gathering data, and following up on findings.
- Support the provision of compliance input on existing and upcoming products and services across the business, as well as overarching compliance requirements.
- Participate actively in compliance-related projects within cross-functional teams, gaining experience and supporting the implementation.
- Assist senior team members in reviewing higher risk or complex financial promotions to ensure fair outcomes.
- Help prepare and maintain compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they remain up-to-date and effectively implemented.
- Contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen internal controls by supporting control-related activities and initiatives.
- Stay up to date with relevant regulatory developments and initiatives impacting retail investment firms leveraging guidance from senior colleagues.
What You Need To Have:
- First experience in compliance, preferably within the financial services or investment industry.
- Knowledge in BaFin regulatory requirements and best practices in compliance.
- Strong interest in regulatory compliance and financial services, with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Educated to degree level in Law, Finance, or a related field.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and be adaptable.
