Who Is Ezra?

Ezra provides B2B digital lending solutions for emerging markets in partnership with mobile and digital wallet operators and financial service providers. Ezra supports 24 operations in 23 countries, across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Our key office locations are in Nairobi, Kenya and Dubai, UAE.

Our flagship products are Airtime Credit Services (ACS), Nano and BNPL.

  • ACS is an airtime or data advance offered to prepaid mobile subscribers at the point of low credit
  • Nano is a micro cash advance offered to mobile wallet users on demand
  • BNPL facilitates payment installments for products and services

As a FinTech company, our business is entirely technology and data driven, from determining subscriber eligibility, generating relevant offers, managing risk, loan issuance, recovery, optimizing performance and reporting, reconciliation and billing.

Each day we process approximately 21M loan requests and 1.4 TB of data across our markets. This process needs to be robust, reliable and secure.

But it doesn’t end there. We’re exploring new ways of using our platform and transactional data to improve our products and develop new product opportunities.

Context of the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager in Nairobi, Kenya to lead the orchestration of technology initiatives while driving our transition towards Agile ways of working. This role will focus on enabling high-quality delivery across our R&D team by embedding Agile practices, improving collaboration, and ensuring that technical teams are aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will be a strong facilitator, well-versed in Agile methodologies, and capable of guiding teams through change—helping us evolve from traditional structures into a more adaptive and outcome-driven model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate key Agile ceremonies such as planning sessions, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile principles, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Identify gaps in current processes and design improvements to enhance delivery flow

Project Delivery & Orchestration

  • Coordinate and track project deliverables, ensuring milestones are met and priorities are aligned
  • Work closely with engineering, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to remove blockers and manage dependencies
  • Maintain a clear overview of delivery health—surfacing risks, issues, and progress to R&D leadership

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

  • Provide structured updates on project progress, risks, and dependencies
  • Build transparency through dashboards, reports, and project documentation
  • Manage expectations and ensure alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders

Tools & Process Management

  • Use tools like Jira and Confluence to structure backlogs, track progress, and support Agile reporting
  • Drive consistency in documentation, workflows, and decision-making across projects
  • Monitor delivery metrics to guide improvements in predictability and team performance

Professional Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
  • 5–10 years of experience in technical project management, delivery management, or Agile leadership roles, ideally within software development or IT environments
  • Proven track record of guiding teams and organizations through Agile adoption or transformation
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean) and experience applying them in practice
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to drive organizational and cultural change with resilience and influence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Agile transitions or transformations in growing organizations
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, or similar)
  • Background in software engineering or technical disciplines
