Job Description:
The student worker will support the varsity esports team by assisting with graphic design, video editing, clipping, recaps, marketing, social media and broadcasting. Working alongside the brand integration staff and esports director, this position will assist the esports program’s growth and influence in both the esports and Baylor communities. This position is intended to give students the experiences of working in and around a dynamic and emerging sport that is a key University strategic initiative.
Job functions:
The student worker will support the varsity esports teams' content strategy by assisting with graphic design, video editing, and short-form clipping; Produce engaging match recaps, news updates, and social media content for all official platforms; Work alongside the Brand Integration staff and Esports Director to ensure content aligns with Baylor's brand guidelines and strategic goals; Provide live broadcast support including the creation and deployment of on-screen graphics and highlight clips; Drive the esports program's growth and influence in both the Baylor and broader esports communities through consistent, high-quality content creation.
Qualifications and responsibilities:
• Produce a consistent stream of high-quality multimedia content, including static graphics (e.g., match day announcements, roster reveals), edited videos (e.g., hype videos, player spotlights), and short-form social media clips.
• Assist with live broadcast support, including creating on-screen graphics and executing real-time video clipping of key plays and highlights during matches.
• Develop engaging copy and schedule posts across all official Baylor Esports social media channels (e.g., Twitter, Twitch, TikTok) to drive fan engagement and program growth.
• Write concise and accurate match recaps and general news updates for distribution on the program's website and social media platforms.
• Collaborate with the Brand Integration staff and Esports Director to align content with established branding guidelines and strategic marketing goals.
• Proven proficiency with design and editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, or equivalent software).
• Strong understanding of current social media trends, platforms, and best practices for audience engagement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Highly reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with the competitive esports landscape, popular game titles, and esports community culture.
• Experience with live streaming software (e.g., OBS) or on-camera/broadcasting roles.
• Prior experience managing a professional or organizational social media account.
• Support marketing and communications strategies and perform duties accordingly
• Exhibit a willingness to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to comply with University policies
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
