Junior Data Analyst (Python and SQL)

Purpose Of The Team:

The Strategic Operations (SOPS) team drives technical modernization across Verisk's ISO processes  by modernizing, developing and optimizing data systems that power analytical products. We are a hybrid team of data professionals who design, implement, and maintain core data infrastructure spanning ingestion, transformation, and business intelligence capabilities. Our mission is to enhance product development through automation, process reengineering, and strategic data solutions. We collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to deliver scalable, efficient systems that support critical business operations and analytical insights.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to optimize insurance-related data workflows based on their needs 
• Write clean, maintainable Python code and efficient SQL queries (within Snowflake) 
• Monitor and improve existing data flows by addressing bugs, implementing new features and enhancing calculation performance where possible 
• Design and implement data processes that modernize existing solutions, aligning with stakeholder requirements 
• Use version control tools to collaborate effectively with teammates and manage code changes 
• Document processes, updates, and project statuses using tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Required:

• Fluency in English is required (at least B2 spoken and written) 
• Knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting) 
• Familiarity with SQL and Python (intermediate)  
• Attention to detail to follow elaborate instructions and to spot even little differences in data 
• Willing to work in a hybrid model as a full-time employee and grow within an insur-tech company 
• Ability to manage competing, high-priority demands and prioritize workloads while managing projects and multiple responsibilities against strict deadlines  
• Strong interpersonal/collaboration skills.  

Preferred:

• Practical experience with Power BI or other visualization tools 
• Knowledge of AWS or Snowflake
