Job Summary:
Join the Portfolio IT & Data Security team as the IT Manager – Systems Administration. This position is responsible for leading and managing a team of System Administrators and Junior System Administrators to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the organization's Global IT infrastructure (MS365/Azure). This role involves strategic planning, day-to-day operations oversight, team leadership, and hands-on technical support for enterprise systems, servers, networks, and cloud environments. This role ensures the stability, security, and performance of client systems while driving operational excellence, team development, and continuous improvement in service delivery.The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, proven leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of multitenant environments typical of Managed Service Provider (MSP) operations.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of System Administrators and Junior System Administrators.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and training, and support career development.
- Establish team goals, prioritize workload, and ensure consistent and timely support delivery.
Infrastructure & Systems Management:
- Oversee administration of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, and other cloud platforms.
- Lead efforts related to system monitoring, patch management, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and business continuity requirements.
Operational Excellence:
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and technical documentation.
- Coordinate incident response and root cause analysis for system outages and service disruptions.
- Manage Global team across multiple time zones, and multiple languages and create strategic resource planning.
Project & Change Management:
- Plan and execute infrastructure projects such as upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support enterprise initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Manage and enforce change control processes and maintenance schedules.
Security & Compliance:
- Work closely with IT Operations Manager to implement and enforce security policies including MFA, conditional access, and endpoint protection, system hardening, backup, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulatory requirements specifically focused on LGPD but also (e.g., ISO, NIST, GDPR).
Vendor & Budget Oversight:
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with hardware/software vendors and service providers especially in the LATAM region, but also maintain our vendor relationships in the Portfolio.
- Assist in budgeting for infrastructure tools, licensing, and team resource needs, as well as invoices and cross-charging to our businesses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure support, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong technical background in Windows and/or Linux server environments, Active Directory, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS), backup tools, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on service quality and team collaboration.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+, VMware VCP, or similar.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and service desk operations.
