The Opportunity



As a (SIBO) Strategic Insights & Business Optimization Data Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the team in preparing and delivering business analytics and insights, including data management activities related to insight delivery. This individual contributor role encompasses a combination of strategic insights generation, advanced data analytics, collaboration, continuous improvement, and an enterprise mindset.

  • Collaborate with the SIBO team to collect analytics requirements, translate them into specifications, and deliver outputs in a timely manner using an iterative approach.
  • Develop, maintain, and update a pipeline process for periodic stable analytic reports, utilizing Business Intelligence tools for customizable and eventually self-service reports.
  • Handle a pipeline of requests for frequent analytics related to business performance/management, including agile project management, risk register, and a dev/val/prod approach.
  • Design and deliver advanced analytics solutions, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and uncertainty analyses, applying descriptive and inferential statistical methods to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of analytical solutions, from ideation to implementation, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and stakeholder needs.
  • Provide advice to the team on analytics architecture, infrastructure, and improved pipeline processes, and collaborate to continuously improve visualization, report design, and storytelling components.
  • Acquire, aggregate, and curate high-quality primary and secondary data sources to enable accurate and meaningful analyses, acting as a technical point of contact between SIBO and Informatics teams.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Physical Sciences or related field is a plus); Post-Graduate Degree is preferred. 7+ years of work experience with Bachelors; 5+ years of work experience with Masters; 3+ years of work experience with PhD, preferably within pharmaceutical or biotech industry (commercial or clinical) and/or management consulting.
  • Deep expertise in at least two of the following areas:
  • Data Analytics, Advanced Data Analytics, Resource Forecasting and Management, Statistics, Information Visualization, Data Science, Patient and/or Investigator Insights, and/or Competitive Intelligence. 
  • Proficiency in scripting, statistical programming, and visualization languages, such as:
  • Python, R, SQL, ggplot2, or other similar tools.
  • Proficiency in data analytics toolkits and platforms, such as:
  • Matplotlib, MatLabSAS, BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Bokeh, etc), spreadsheet software (Google Sheets, Excel), version control and collaborative tools (Git).
  • Strong preference for experience leveraging sophisticated techniques and tools beyond traditional data analysis to: Discover deeper insights, generate recommendations, and make predictions.
  • Solid understanding of the advantages and limitations of different analytical approaches. Considerable experience in exploratory and confirmatory data analysis techniques that drive strategic business decisions.
  • Skilled in independently or semi-autonomously examining data or content to uncover insights.Skilled at integrating data sets from diverse sources and presenting findings in various formats and mediums.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying and presenting complex concepts.Strong attention to detail.
  • Data Analytics, Advanced Data Analytics, Resource Forecasting and Management, Statistics, Information Visualization, Data Science, Patient and/or Investigator Insights, and/or Competitive Intelligence. 
  • Python, R, SQL, ggplot2, or other similar tools.
