Summary
The General Fabricator is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal products based on customer and company requirements.
Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned and management retains the discretion to add, delete, or change the duties at any time)
• Produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Proficient in operating machines such as cutoff saw, punch press, form roll and drill press, to cut and shape components as required completing the fabrication process.
• Measure finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• Maintain logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Operate hydraulic cranes (by hand) to load material into machines.
• Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintain a safe work environment to make certain MIOSHA safety rules and regulations are followed.
• Must be able to utilize mathematic concepts effectively in order to: read a measuring tape, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in order to: comprehend and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, including reading and comprehending work orders or instructions to determine specifications (such as materials to be used), locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.
• Fit and assemble components.
• Clean and maintain machine and parts to keep equipment in optimal production conditions.
• Consult with quality assurance, and inspect work pieces throughout the production floor to identify out of tolerance machining.
• Consistently meet production standards as outlined by the production schedule, and manager without compromising quality and/or safety.
• Must be able to interact in-person with peers and leadership for the duration of the shift.
• Must be able to handle high stress situations.
• Follow and comply with ISO quality procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Position Qualifications
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- • 1-3 months of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Prior knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models (preferred)
Physical Demands
• Routinely required to stand and walk; use hands to handle and feel; reach with arms and hands; as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Routinely performs repetitive movements such as bending, twisting, reaching, lifting and pulling
• Routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
• Must be able to wear all necessary safety equipment.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
Environmental Conditions
- • Routinely work in a noisy (company-provided hearing protection is required) and non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Able to work in an environment where lock-out/tag-out is a standard safety practice.
- Routinely work in environment with gas-powered and other forklifts and machinery.
