NN Digital Hub is a subsidiary company of Nationale Nederlanden Group located in Madrid, Spain. We deliver IT services and solutions for the different international Business Units from Nationale Nederlanden Group.
Our objective is to create, deliver and maintain insurance product management solutions, as service propositions to enable any agent (linked or direct), machine or company to create and sell insurance products in Europe in an automated way and real time.
Join our team as a Data Modeler/Data Architect for the IT Data domain within the CIO Data Analytics Platform (CIO DAP) at Group IT/CIO Office.
What You Are Going To Do:
The Senior Data Modeler within the IT Data domain is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of logical and physical data models that define the structure, relationships, and constraints of data within the IT data domain and the CIODAP platform. This role ensures that data is structured efficiently, securely, and in a way that supports business intelligence, reporting, and decision-making processes.
In addition to core modeling responsibilities, the role includes supporting data architecture activities to ensure alignment with NN Group’s enterprise architecture and data governance standards. You will collaborate closely with data architects, data analysts, and data management teams to implement robust data solutions and contribute to the development of reusable data products.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Modeling:
- Analyse and translate business needs into long-term solution data models and communicate these models and their usage.
- Translate conceptual data models into logical and physical models that are documented and maintained.
- Work with the data management team and stakeholders to understand conceptual data models and data flows.
- Evaluate existing systems’ data models to validate consistency and efficiency and provide feedback for improvement.
- Review modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility and implementation of data strategies.
- Develop best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system and support data analysis.
- Define and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models.
Data Architecture:
- Ensure compliance with NN’s data model and architecture guidelines.
- Support the implementation of data governance and quality standards for IT Data.
- Define standards and procedures for data usage and contribute to defining data lineage in conjunction with enterprise/domain architects.
- Review and help create new and ongoing model changes aligned with architectural vision.
- Assist in setting and implementing data management strategy and resolving data incidents in collaboration with Data Stewards and Custodians.
- Contribute to the design and assessment of end-to-end data architecture.

Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models for databases and data warehouses within a complex organization with different stake holders.
- Experience in creating and maintaining horizontal data lineage – end-to-end data traceability.
- Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., 3NF, Dimensional modeling).
- Knowledge of data warehousing architecture (e.g., Data Vault, Medallion).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and ETL technologies.
- Experience with metadata management tools (e.g., Power Designer, Enterprise Architect, Data Modeler).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in English (written and verbal).
Furthermore You Have:
- Experience or exposure to cloud-based data platforms (Azure, data bricks, AWS, GCP).
- Certifications in cloud platforms or data architecture (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, AWS Certified Data Analytics).
- Experience in defining data architecture guidelines and contributing to enterprise-level data strategies.
