We are seeking a Procurement Specialist with a strong background in purchasing and construction industry practices. This role is responsible for managing the full procurement lifecycle, supporting field operations and project management teams, and ensuring accurate job costing and WIP tracking. The ideal candidate will have experience with purchase order systems and a working knowledge of stormwater construction materials and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end purchasing processes, including requisitions, RFQs, PO creation, and invoice reconciliation.
- Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and service agreements.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project schedules.
- Source and procure materials specific to stormwater systems, including piping, filtration units, separators, and erosion control products.
- Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to align procurement with job specifications and timelines.
- Work closely with accounting to allocate costs accurately to projects.
- Monitor and report on WIP status, identifying cost variances and supporting forecasting efforts.
- Ensure all procurement activity is properly documented for audit and compliance purposes.
- Operate and maintain the company’s purchase order system, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency.
- Recommend improvements to procurement workflows and cost control strategies.
- Ensure all purchases meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, COIs, warranties, and vendor certifications.
Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field with equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of procurement experience in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of job costing principles and WIP reporting in a construction environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and purchase order software; experience with platforms is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
