About the Job
The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for leading the design and evolution of the corporate data architecture, acting strategically in defining standards, frameworks, and best practices that ensure the scalability, security, and efficiency of the company’s data products.
They will be part of a highly technical and collaborative environment with strong interaction between Engineering, Data Science, and Product teams, contributing to the development of solutions that support analytics, artificial intelligence, and data governance initiatives.
This professional will play a technical leadership role, guiding engineering and data teams in building robust pipelines, integrations, and analytical models, while actively participating in defining the architectural vision of the data platform—from storage to consumption layers.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the corporate data architecture, ensuring alignment with business strategies and principles of scalability, security, and governance.
- Act as a technical reference in data engineering and architecture, supporting teams in structural decisions and solving complex challenges.
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring consistency and performance across analytical and operational environments.
- Lead the design and implementation of modern and resilient data pipelines using orchestration, integration, and transformation tools (Airflow, dbt, Glue, Dataflow, etc.).
- Define technical standards, best development practices, and guidelines for versioning, testing, and deployment automation (CI/CD).
- Support the development of service-oriented and microservices-based architectures, ensuring efficient integration across systems and platform components.
- Participate in the design and implementation of machine learning and advanced analytics solutions in collaboration with Data Science teams.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and architectural standards to meet evolving platform demands.
- Conduct technical reviews and mentoring sessions, fostering knowledge sharing and the technical growth of the team.
- Collaborate with technical and executive leadership to define the long-term vision for the data platform, focusing on innovation and sustainability.
- Ensure observability, quality, and integrity of data across all layers of the architecture.
- Support data governance and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields.
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or Technical Lead in data, engineering, or analytics projects involving complex data models and pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency in data-focused and software programming languages (Python, SQL, and at least one object-oriented language such as Java, C#, or Go).
- Experience with data orchestration and integration tools (Airflow, dbt, Glue, Dataflow, etc.).
- Knowledge of microservices and API-oriented architectures.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, version control, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- Experience in data analysis, including exploration, transformation, visualization, and interpretation to support decision-making.
- Background in data science and machine learning, with experience building predictive models, applying ML techniques, and evaluating results.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable technical solutions.
- Advanced English (focused on conversation).
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree or specialization in Software Architecture, Big Data, or Data Engineering.
- Experience with Data Mesh, Data Fabric, or other modern distributed data architectures.
- Knowledge of data observability and data quality tools.
- Experience with data streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
- Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
- Previous background in software development (as engineer or architect).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer, Google Cloud Data Architect).
- Knowledge of SAP/HANA and integration with analytical environments.
- Basic or intermediate Spanish.
