Hanson Wade is seeking an experienced and driven Product Owner to join our Beacon product team. Beacon is our flagship SaaS platform that powers data-driven insights for the life sciences sector. As Product Owner, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining and delivering a product vision that aligns with business goals, user needs, and our commitment to quality and innovation.
You will work closely with developers, QA engineers, and the Scrum Master to deliver value every sprint—translating customer feedback and business priorities into clear, actionable requirements. This role is ideal for someone passionate about data, product discovery, and agile delivery, with around five years of experience in a fast-paced, collaborative product environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring clarity, prioritisation, and alignment with the Beacon product strategy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including commercial, technical, and customer-facing teams, to define and refine product requirements.
- Translate business objectives and customer needs into user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure a shared understanding of priorities and delivery outcomes.
- Balance short-term delivery goals with long-term product vision and scalability.
- Analyse product performance, gather user feedback, and use data insights to drive iterative improvements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Act as the voice of the customer, championing usability, functionality, and value across the product lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
- Around 5 years of experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role.
- Proven track record in managing software products, ideally within SaaS or data-driven environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent skills in backlog management, prioritisation, and stakeholder communication.
- Proficiency in using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Agile platforms.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to inform product decisions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in B2B SaaS, data platforms, or the life sciences sector.
- Knowledge of UX principles and experience in user testing or product discovery.
- Certification in Agile or Product Ownership (e.g., CSPO, PSPO).
