Job Description
As a Senior Associate Structural Engineer in our New Zealand business, your impact will be in the successful delivery of technically complex structural projects across New Zealand.
What You’Ll Do
- Act as lead project engineer and provide technical expertise and advice through all stages of the project lifecycle relating to building structures and civil infrastructures.
- Assist Regional Lead with business development in the civil structure space, with particular focus on the development of business within the Wellington region.
- Establish, lead and develop a team of civil structural engineers, providing technical advice and direction to all employee levels through technical challenges and issues.
- Assist with projects of scale and complexity across both Australia and New Zealand.
- Contribute to the training and development of junior engineers and project resources.
- Act as project liaison, monitor project progress and provide project status reports to client/s.
- Develop and maintain positive client relationship/s, to ensure on-going client satisfaction and service delivery.
- Financial management of projects by monitoring the actual time and cost expended on the total project against the budget, informing client of any changes in scope of work or other causes of variances from project resources.
Qualifications
Ideally, you will have 10+ years’ experience with demonstrated technical expertise in Buildings and Structures within a consultancy environment. In addition, you will also have:
- Full work rights to work and live in New Zealand.
- Accredited tertiary qualifications in Engineering with Structural Engineering expertise.
- CPEng and/or NER status
- Strong working knowledge of relevant NZ codes and standards.
- Demonstrated expertise with the delivery of Civil Structures projects (bridges, culverts, pumpstations, etc).
- Experience in leading and designing civil structures such as retaining walls, bridges, culverts, gantries, and sign supports.
- Demonstrated expertise in the successful delivery of multiple high-profile projects concurrently in a timely and efficient manner.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and client management skillset to contribute and lead bids, tenders and proposals.
- Ability and desire to mentor and develop junior engineers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with stakeholders, authorises, clients and contractors at all levels.
