Job Summary:

The People & Culture Systems Analyst, Benefits will serve as a subject matter expert in implementing and maintaining the benefits systems.  In addition, the People & Culture Systems Analyst, Benefits will also support the day-to-day administration of our Health and Welfare benefits programs (health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, group travel, group legal, Identity theft protection, cancer services, pet insurance, LTC, back-up dependent care, workers comp, life, AD&D, flexible spending plans). The People & Culture Systems Analyst, Benefits may also be responsible for assisting with leave administration, providing detailed comparative benefit analyses for potential M&A opportunities, assisting with the implementation of new benefit initiatives and completing benefit survey questionnaires. 

Job Duties:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on the benefits systems by identifying gaps, issues and provides resolutions for systems improvement 
  • Analyzes trends in technology that can best fit the business needs
  • Provides assistance to employees, partners, retirees and COBRA participants on benefit related questions or concerns; research issues; interprets benefit policies and procedures
  • Assists with conducting due diligence of benefit programs for potential M&A opportunities, providing a detailed comparative financial benefits analysis
  • Monitors and audits all benefit plan data sent to benefit carriers and maintains a strong working relationship with benefit carries as well as internal payroll department
  • Assists the Leave of Absence Administrator with leave of absence requests including approvals/denials of leave requests, preparation of FMLA documentation, monitor and track leaves of absence and maintenance of records
  • Maintains the integrity of data on all benefit programs offered to employee, partner retirees and COBRA participants; 
  • Assists with creation and implementation of new benefit initiatives, including preparation and administration of annual open enrollment, wellness plan design and benefits system capabilities 
  • Reviews plans and stays current on current and proposed legislation, including ACA, HIPAA and other compliance requirements for health and welfare plans
  • Participates in and completes benefits survey questionnaires and submits to third party consultants for their use in creating surveys
  • Documents and maintains administrative procedures for benefit processes
  • Researches and prepares ACA reporting, monthly plan financial reporting and compiles metrics for detailed benefits analysis and assists in making recommendations for leadership
  • Participates in People & Culture Projects and performs related duties as assigned
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associates degree preferably in Business Administration, Human Resource or Finance required

Experience:

  • 3+ years’ benefits/HR experience, required 
  • Prior experience with benefits system administration and implementation, including but not limited to ensuring the accuracy of data and system testing, required 
  • Experience with self-insured health care plans, preferred
  • Advanced skill in Excel spreadsheet creation and analysis, preferred

License(S)/Certification(S):

  • CEBS, preferred
  • PHR, preferred

Software:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with Oracle HCM, preferred

Language(S):

  • N/A

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, client service and organization skills
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing, and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements preferred
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Ability to work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients 
  • Capable of maintaining confidential information and matters with discretion 
  • Strong working knowledge of HR policies and practices
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of leadership while providing a high level of customer service and confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt communication style to successfully convey messages and objectives to diverse audience

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

  • National Range: $75,000 - $80,000
  • Maryland Range: $75,000 - $80,000
  • NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $75,000 - $80,000
