The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Business Analyst to join our IT department on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This maternity cover position is a key user facing role within the IT department. You will be responsible for capturing, analysing & documenting business requirements for the Online Services Team, working with stakeholders to determine the priority of requirements based on value to the business, defining the scope of the change activity, and then working with both users and IT staff to guarantee the change activity meets the business needs as part of a wider development team.
What Will You Do:
Scoping:
- Working with product owners, stakeholders and business users to elicit, capture, analyse, refine, communicate and document their requirements.
- Assisting the product owner with creating and maintaining a healthy and ordered product backlog.
- Supporting the development of options for the range of technical solutions available to meet the project brief.
- Providing support to the developers in the definition of technical solutions.
- Making solution recommendations based on fit, technical feasibility and cost analysis.
- Creating and documenting testing scenarios, use cases, run user and regression tests to ensure high product quality.
- Assisting with the estimation of timescales, resources and planning to successfully deliver.
- Contributing to the regular review of working practices and the alignment of these to industry best practice.
Delivering:
- Capturing, analysing & documenting business requirements using Agile methodology.
- Working with key product owners and stakeholders to determine the priority of requirements.
- Working with product owners and stakeholders during the design, build and test phases to ensure the solution meets the needs of the business.
- Taking accountability for highlighting issues, engaging the team to find solutions and ensuring that the necessary remedial action is pursued.
What We Are Looking For:
- Able to work effectively as part of a diverse and inclusive team.
- Experience of working with a recognised Agile or Iterative development methodology adopting agile documentation including Backlogs, Customer Journeys, Use Cases, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria etc.
- Track record of applying business or logical analysis to break down complex problems and identify viable solutions.
- Experience of the full project lifecycle and a good understanding of project roles and activities (technical and non-technical) required for successful delivery.
- Effective at building and sustaining relationships across all levels of the organisation, both within IT and beyond.
- Credible in relaying detailed information to a non-expert audience in a manner that creates action and gets results.
- Experience of various tools and techniques applicable to breaking down problems, formulating solutions, and tracking and prioritising risks and issues.
- Experience in Digital Product or Services Development.
Career Level:
The career level assigned to this role is level 3. The career level framework provides a formal structure for the business services functions at the firm. The framework, which ranges from level 1 to level 7, clearly defines the responsibilities, skills and competencies required at each level.
