What We’Re Looking For
We’re seeking a Handyman with a strong background in property maintenance and retrofit works to support our growing Net Zero Retrofit projects.
You’ll play a key role in improving the energy efficiency and comfort of homes by carrying out a range of repair, preparation, and installation tasks as part of whole house retrofit upgrades.
The ideal candidate will be practical, reliable, and take pride in high-quality workmanship. Experience within retrofit, social housing, or energy efficiency projects is an advantage.
Key Responsbilities
- Carry out a variety of property maintenance and repair tasks to support retrofit installations (e.g. insulation, draught-proofing, basic carpentry, plaster repairs, and minor plumbing/electrical works).
- Prepare homes for retrofit measures, ensuring safe working areas and protecting property during works.
- Support engineers and installers in fitting low-carbon technologies (such as heat pumps, solar PV, and ventilation systems).
- Conduct basic diagnostics and report any defects, health and safety issues, or additional works required.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship and customer service in occupied and unoccupied properties.
- Willingness to travel with overnight stays as required
Skills/ Qualifications Required
- Proven experience in general maintenance, property repairs, or a similar handyman role.
- Understanding of energy efficiency or retrofit projects (PAS 2035 experience desirable).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Basic qualifications in one or more trades (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, plastering, decorating) – desirable but not essential.
- CSCS card and/or health & safety training preferred.
