Job Description
Lead the design, development, and deployment of middleware services within the Renesas ecosystem, enabling targeted applications. Serve as the principal architect for a globally distributed team, translating market requirements into robust engineering specifications and driving technical excellence across projects.
- Architectural Leadership: Define and own the high-level blueprint for middleware solutions, ensuring modular, scalable, and maintainable architectures that meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Requirements Engineering: Analyze market vertical MRDs to extract and define relevant engineering specifications. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
- System Design: Break down requirements into layered, modular components. Oversee the design and integration of system elements to achieve targeted functionality and performance.
- Technical Project Management: Work closely with developers and cross-functional teams to ensure architectural compliance with requirements, design, standards and project objectives.
- Technical Partner Interface: Serve as the technical liaison with key partners by assessing their technology, determining how integration should occur, and supervising its implementation.
- Optimization & Process Improvement: Champion initiatives to enhance maintainability, portability, scalability, performance, safety, and security, while reducing development time and cost.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with proven leadership in customer-facing roles
- Deep expertise in designing and developing robust software stacks using modular, flexible, and extensible paradigms.
- Demonstrated ability to create proposals, detailed software architecture, requirements, and design documents.
- Experience managing strategic collaborations with external partners and leading multi-regional software projects.
- Strong object-oriented design principles and coding skills in C or C++.
- Excellent technical communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; ability to build strong customer and cross-functional relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with middleware platforms, software libraries/modules and SDKs.
- Familiarity with microprocessor and microcontroller system architectures.
- Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD workflows, issue tracking, and requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Requirements Yogi).
- Experience with Yocto, build systems and containerization tools (Docker).

Additional Information
The expected annual base pay range for this position is $200,000K-$215,000. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
