We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer I to join our team in Richmond, VA. This role is responsible for guiding efforts to ensure the reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, and controls. The ideal candidate will identify and manage asset reliability risks that could affect plant or business operations.

This role is responsible for guiding efforts to ensure the reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, and controls. The ideal candidate will identify and manage asset reliability risks that could affect plant or business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with maintenance, facilities, and reliability teams to ensure the reliability and maintainability of existing and new equipment.
- Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems affecting operations.
- Provide technical support to maintenance and technical teams.
- Investigate equipment failures and operational issues, and make recommendations to ensure product quality.
- Lead root cause analyses and breakdown analyses using tools such as 5-Why and Cause Maps.
- Train team members on reliability principles and continuous improvement.
- Lead the development of preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance technologies and practices, including:
- Oil, vibration, infrared, motor current, and ultrasound analysis
- Laser alignment, lubrication routes, roll management, torquing, calibration
- Preventive maintenance optimization and asset care plans
- Prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
- Provide technical training regarding plant systems and functions.
- Review bid analyses and make recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment as a Maintenance or Reliability Specialist (or equivalent).
- Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to engage, develop, and lead work groups to achieve operational goals.
- Demonstrated commitment to creating a safe and cooperative work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology.
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or SMRP certification.
Physical Demands
- Movement around plant environment, including climbing stairs and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent reaching, stooping, and kneeling; occasional computer work.
