In This Role, You Will:
Provide technical support, development and control to the Epping Manufacturing Plant, so that it maintains the highest levels of productivity and profitability while maintaining acceptable safety and quality levels. Provide technical support to the Operations Teams to ensure continuous and competitive operational results is achieved. Provide statistical analysis of key focus areas.
- Provide the leadership, technical development and technical control to the Operational lines so that the process operates at the highest productivity and profitability levels.
- Participate in the design and development of improvement projects and areas.
- Assist in managing quality feedback to customers that will minimise asset waste and improve customer perception in reducing market complaints.
- Provide professional engineering and process knowledge and support for the solution of Mill daily operating problems.
- Audit and make recommendations for the solution of problems relating to production, cost and quality of all production to assure the attainment of Mill Objectives and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice standards.
- Develop and assist in creating a training structure to help drive the team development objectives for self-sufficient teams that will drive competency and skills development.
- Lead improvement projects on various assets in the MILL that will improve either “Stops, Quality, Safety, ROO, or Waste”.
- Statistical analysis of process and quality data
- Continuously seek innovative solutions and lead by example as well as benchmarking solutions.
- The incumbent is responsible for liaising with Engineering Teams, Operations Teams and Quality Team.
- Be a lead and role model for the Process technicians within the Operations Team
- Participate in strategic meetings that will drive sustainability and encourage dialogue that will drive and sustain our Lean Culture.
- Drive root cause Analysis.
- Develop Work Instructions, Standards and OPL’s that will build capability

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:
Minimum Requirements
- NQF Level 6 Engineering Degree
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, practical and technical Engineering knowledge, in an FMCG environment
- Lean Six Sigma - essential.
- Have the practical capability to implement initiatives on his/her own without technical support when required – essential.
- Proven ability to lead change and train others on implemented changes – be able to influence and guide (this is not a formal team lead role)
- AutoCAD skills an added advantage
