Introducing Masabi
// At Masabi, we’re driving the fare payment revolution, powering the journeys of millions all over the world. We build fare collection platforms that allow riders to seamlessly buy and present tickets for public transport either on their mobile phones, from a ticket machine, or even by tapping their bank card to travel.
Our Justride platform is used in over 250 locations globally, including some of the largest cities in the world. With our industry-first mobile ticketing SDK, we’ve partnered with large players in the transport space, including Uber, Moovit and Transit.
Your own journey is important to us too. Choosing a role here means joining a network of innovators from all walks of life; a group of passionate individuals who consistently deliver. Here, you’ll find the tools you need to build the career you want. Whether you’re taking the direct route or trying a new path, we’ll support you no matter what.
The Role
// As part of our continued growth into new regions, we are building new functionality and onboarding customers and partners at an ever-increasing rate.
We’re looking for an experienced payments-focused QA Automation Engineer to join our QA and engineering team. You’ll take the lead in testing, validating, and automating critical payment systems, including contactless EMV Transit, e-commerce flows, and Payment Service Provider (PSP) integrations.
This is a key role ensuring the integrity, reliability, and compliance of our end-to-end payment ecosystem. You’ll embed testing early in the development lifecycle, champion shift-left practices, and work closely with engineers and product teams to prevent defects, reduce risk, and accelerate delivery.
Location
// This role is only available to candidates based in Poland.

- Perform manual and automated end-to-end testing across EMV, eCommerce, APIs, terminals, processors, and reports, ensuring transaction accuracy and robust data handling across PSPs
- Expand test coverage for complex payment interactions, including edge cases like network failures, declines, and partial settlements
- Translate payment features and regulatory requirements (e.g. PCI-DSS, PSD2, SCA) into executable test cases in collaboration with product and engineering teams
- Validate payment integrations, message formats ( JSON, XML), and terminal configurations across gateways and processors
- Utilise Kafka to monitor and validate event-driven payment messages across producers and consumers
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, enabling continuous validation of payment flows during deployment cycles
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA practices, test environments, and automation frameworks
- Participate in incident triage and post-production validation of payment issues to ensure root cause analysis and quality resolution
About You
- Proficient in Java or Kotlin, with experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks for financial or payment systems
- Strong experience with manual and automated testing of distributed systems involving multiple payment channels
- Skilled in API testing using Postman or similar tools, and confident in debugging payment flows using browser and network tools
- Solid understanding of EMV and e-commerce transactions, including PSP integrations (e.g. Adyen, Stripe, Worldpay)
- Familiar with payment message formats and transaction flows, authorisation, clearing, settlement, and error handling
- Comfortable working with Kafka to monitor and validate event-driven payment messages
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration, with a test-first mindset (BDD/TDD) applied in payment-related development
- Self-motivated, analytical, and capable of working independently in complex, cross-functional environments
