Description

Join our team!  The Electrician reports to the Director of Facilities Projects. This position leads and personally performs the planning, implementation, and completion of electrical infrastructure projects and general work throughout our facilities, including new installations, modifications, renovations, special requests, and critical repairs. This role directly handles all electrical components of both standalone and collaborative projects, personally managing scope definition, materials procurement, cost estimation, timeline development, and project activities while ensuring compliance with all codes and safety standards.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Project And Work Execution:

  • Lead and perform planning, coordination, and execution of electrical infrastructure projects from inception to completion. 
  • Create scope documents, procure and maintain materials, develop cost estimates, and establish project timelines. 
  • Review and confirm electrical designs, specifications, and drawings for installations and modifications. 
  • Perform on-site problem-solving and technical troubleshooting during project implementation. 
  • Conduct site inspections throughout project phases to ensure quality standards are met. 
  • Support HVAC and general maintenance activities as requested.   

Responsive Services:

  • Perform immediate repairs to restore critical systems during emergency situations. 
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs for complex electrical issues requiring immediate attention. 
  • Implement temporary electrical solutions to maintain operations during extended repairs when required. 
  • Conduct post-incident analysis and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence of repeat issues. 
  • Support preventative maintenance programs to proactively address potential system failures. 

Technical Compliance:

  • Submit and monitor electrical permit with Chatham County when required. 
  • Perform all electrical work in compliance with NEC and local code requirements. 
  • Maintain required licensing and certifications, completing all necessary continuing education. 

 All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience.  

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Valid Driver's License 
  • Valid and current electrical license (must be maintained throughout employment) 
  • 10+ years hands-on experience leading electrical service work and projects in residential and commercial environments, including high/low-voltage installations (up to 277V), modification, and troubleshooting.  
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and controls. 
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and construction documents. 
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, NFPA). 
  • Experience developing electrical project estimates and material requirements. 
  • Strong hands-on electrical skills with proven ability to self-perform all aspects of electrical work. 
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and be able to work collaboratively within a diverse work group. 
  • Must be willing to perform duties inside and outside the facility when necessary. 
  • Must enjoy working with and have the ability to cooperate with other employees and leadership staff. 
  • Must be willing and eager to work with and provide assistance to the residents of the facility. 
  • Must have a genuine interest in geriatric care and must believe in and uphold the philosophy of the facility. 
  • Must be able to work independently.
