Caladwich Consulting is seeking a Sr. Budget Data Analyst to support the Region 9 and West Zone Federal Protective Service (FPS) financial management and senior level staff by assisting in analyzing, tracking and monitoring accounting functions in the Federal Financial Management System (FFMS). This Analyst position will include supporting a variety of budgetary, analytical, technical, and administrative functions for substantive organizational programs and support activities.
Core Responsibilities- SM Expertise in the following fields:
- Performs a variety of record keeping, reporting, and informational duties in support of the government programs.
- Compiles, maintains and updates data, lists, and reports. Checks and verifies data by direct comparison with source documents, pointing out discrepancies, and checks or verifies textual material.
- Updates manuals on policies, directives, and memoranda. Maintains bulletin board(s), selecting and filing new and/or removing deleted material for future reference. Records, sorts, assembles, and files information on specific projects, facilities, contracts, financial documentation, current project, or studies.
- Monitors, coordinates and maintains a variety of records. Extracts information, enters information into databases, analyzes data to determine if trends or patterns exist, and generates various management reports used in decision making.
- Analyzes accounting data, reconciling accounts, and drafting documents to justify reprogramming actions and submit re-classification requests for approval thru the Supervisory Budget Analyst and/or Financial Program/Cost Analyst for changes in the financial system.
Requirements
Requirements For Candidate:
- Bachelor’s Degree that includes at least 24 hours coursework in finance, quantitative methods, or accounting.
- Minimum Four (4) years of active experience in federal financial policy, procedures, regulations, and guidelines applicable to financial management programs, processes, and systems, with the skills and ability to apply such knowledge to a broad scope of complex assignments.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access, intermediate Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent oral, written, and plain language communication skills
- Experience with budgeting and/or accounting principles and grants administration.
- Ability to conduct project cost analysis.
- Working knowledge of the Federal grant funding process.
- Personnel will be required to undergo a background suitability clearance (HSPD-12) by DHS Office of Professional Responsibility, prior to report to work and maintain this suitability clearance
