Job Description Summary: The Construction Contract Administrator is responsible for monitoring construction contracts, preparing progress reports, coordinating schedules, and acting as a liaison between MKA, contractors, and client representatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Effective communication between design teams, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, and client representatives
- Work closely with the MKA business development team in marketing strategies and maintaining client relationships
- Provide relevant experience to teams developing construction contract documents
- Management of the firm’s construction contract administration responsibilities for projects during the construction phase
- Provide on-site observations to evaluate completion and performance of construction
- Review and assist in the development and managing of project budgets
- Participate in the resolution of construction issues
- Prepare documentation and reports of site visits and construction meetings
- Review and be cognizant of construction Submittal and Request for Information (RFI) comments
- Work closely with both the architectural and engineering staff in response and resolution of RFI and change order requests
- Coordinate and participate in substantial and final inspections of work to verify completion of construction contracts
- Coordinate and conduct post occupancy evaluations of projects.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in construction management, architectural or engineering related program.
- Relevant work experience in the construction industry or construction administrative field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite. Knowledge in MS Project, scheduling, and CAD software a plus.
- Familiarity and ability to read, interpret, and understand construction contract documents, drawings and specifications.
- Ability to support multiple projects and people simultaneously.
- Possess strong mathematical aptitude for reviewing contract quantities and costs, change orders and pay applications.
- Ability to travel to work sites frequently, work in loud environments, walk in rugged terrain, and stand multiple hours at a time.
