Job Summary:
The Senior System Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and operating systems. The role ensures high availability, security, and performance of systems, providing advanced technical support and guidance to the IT team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers and associated services.
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance and server uptime.
  • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Ensure system security, including patch management, firewalls, antivirus, and access control.
  • Automate routine system tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting tools.
  • Provide advanced technical support to IT staff and end-users.
  • Collaborate with application owners, DBAs, and network engineers for system integrations.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and infrastructure changes.
  • Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and migrations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems administration, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments.
  • Experience with virtualization, cloud services, and storage solutions.
  • Proficient in network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, and firewalls.
  • Skilled in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with cloud migration, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO, NIST, GDPR).
  • Certification such as MCSA, MCSE, RHCE, AWS/Azure Administrator is advantageous.
