Job Description

Credit Analyst Underwriter III is responsible for the analysis and management of moderately complex and unconventional financial and credit risk assessment tasks. This position uses advanced knowledge about their function and our organization to problem-solve and make strategic decisions which has a direct impact on the business. This position works independently with guidance provided only under complex situations. Focus on commercial and industrial products.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and risk evaluation decisions for moderately complex transactions with lending    exposures exceeding $2 million.
  • Review and analyze borrower and guarantor personal and business credit reports and financial data.
  • Communicate credit decisions and approval conditions to relevant parties.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team.
  • Escalate complex issues to the senior underwriter or supervisor.
  • Proactively manage and update the loan risk rating system.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
  • Participate in reviews and audits as required by internal and external regulators.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate credit risks.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial statements and tax return analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior employees.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Requirements

Education:

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field.

Job Tasks:

  • Evaluate and analyze the creditworthiness of clients and businesses.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Software Application:

  • Proficient in the use of credit analysis software and other risk management tools.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite efficiently.

Years Of Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in credit analysis or underwriting.
  • Previous experience in the banking industry is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring or training other staff.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Use of visual acuity to read and analyze data on computers.
  • Certain levels of dexterity for typing and writing.
