About The Role
We’re looking for a visionary and detail-driven Senior Interior Designer (Maternity Leave Cover) to join our growing team on a fixed-term contract. In this role, you’ll take the lead on interior design across Omaze’s portfolio of homes, crafting elevated, inviting, and aspirational spaces that embody our brand and delight our audiences. You’ll oversee every stage of the design process, from concept through to installation, ensuring each project delivers exceptional quality, cohesion, and impact.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our design vision while covering a key role during maternity leave, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring our iconic Omaze houses to life.
What You’ll Be Doing
Creative & Design Leadership
- Lead the development of distinctive, cohesive design concepts that reflect Omaze’s brand identity and resonate with our target audience.
- Set the creative direction for each property, guiding internal and external teams to deliver spaces that balance warmth, beauty, and functionality.
- Provide creative oversight and mentorship to designers and collaborators, maintaining a culture of design excellence.
Furniture, Decor & Material Direction
- Curate and approve all FF&E selections- from furniture and lighting to textiles and finishes, ensuring every choice enhances the aesthetic and functional goals of the space.
- Manage supplier relationships and source high-quality, cost-effective design solutions.
- Ensure installations align perfectly with approved design concepts and Omaze quality standards.
Spatial Design & Planning
- Develop intelligent, visually compelling layouts that optimise space, flow, and storytelling.
- Balance aesthetic ambition with practical needs, ensuring each home feels both aspirational and livable.
Project Ownership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead projects from concept through completion, coordinating internal teams, contractors, and partners.
- Oversee schedules, installations, and deliveries to ensure seamless, on-time execution.
Quality Assurance & On-Site Execution
- Supervise installations and final styling, ensuring every detail meets Omaze’s design and quality benchmarks.
- Solve on-site challenges efficiently while maintaining a meticulous eye for presentation and finish.
Innovation & Trend Leadership
- Stay ahead of interior design, material, and furnishing trends — bringing fresh, inspired ideas to every project.
- Contribute to Omaze’s design evolution during your tenure, ensuring continuity and creative innovation.
Budget Management & Vendor Relations
- Develop and manage project budgets, balancing cost efficiency with premium design quality.
- Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to secure the best value for materials and furnishings.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain organised design documentation, presentations, and inventory tracking.
- Provide regular updates to the Art Director, ensuring alignment and transparency.
About You

- You’re a strategic thinker and confident leader, equally comfortable managing design details and big-picture creative direction.
- You’re open to frequent travel- we stage around 12 homes per year across the UK, and your presence on-site will be essential to success. Install periods typically run for six days (including a Saturday).
- You bring a refined aesthetic sensibility, exceptional communication skills, and proven experience delivering high-quality interiors at scale.
- You’re ready to make an impact during a key period for our design team, ensuring continuity, creativity, and excellence throughout this maternity cover.
