Maintenance Engineer Apprentice

Hayley Dexis has an exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic and motivated Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to join our Maintenance Team based at our HQ in Halesowen. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive an Apprentice level starting salary of £16,000.

About our Maintenance Engineer Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship role will support the warehouse and stores team in the upkeep and maintenance across our warehouses, offices and sites.

Typically you’ll be learning about Design and Fabrication, Mechanical & Electricity Systems, Testing of Systems, Planned & Reactive Maintenance, Working Safely, Customer Interaction, Waste Systems & Drainage and Sustainability.

This opportunity provides hands-on experience and structured training to help you successfully complete your apprenticeship.

Working Hours & Arrangements:

This position is based at our Halesowen National Distribution Centre.

Hours are 40 hours per week Monday to Friday typically working 8:30am – 5:30pm

Candidates will need to be able to get to work for 8:30am and live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to our maintenance team
• Investigate and log incoming issues with accurate detail
• Escalate unresolved incidents to appropriate teams
• Assist with reactive & preventative Site Maintenance
• Maintain records of issues and repairs carried out
• Assist the team with Design and Fabrication

What we're looking for.

• A keen interest in the nuts and bolts of how things work
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• No prior experience required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Logical thinking skills and keen attention to detail.
• Well presented and enthusiastic about building a career Facilities Maintenance

• Face to face final stage interview

Interviews will be held at our Halesowen offices.

Candidates selected for final stage interview will be asked to prepare for an interview lasting 30mins - 45mins focused on skills, knowledge, experience and motivations.
