Help us deliver a better tomorrow

Australia Post is delivering for all Australians. From the vehicles that we drive, to the small businesses that make our communities thrive. We’re delivering for the environment, for our communities, for our customers and for our people. We’re moving forward and we want you to come along for the ride.

About The Opportunity

As part of our Industrial Relations and Reform function, this role offers the opportunity to influence how the Group manages compliance across its diverse extended workforce. The Extended Workforce Compliance Manager provides strategic oversight and thought leadership, ensuring our frameworks are contemporary, compliant, and aligned with enterprise risk expectations. You’ll lead initiatives that strengthen governance across delivery contractors, licensees, labour hire, and outsourced arrangements, driving consistency, accountability, and a culture of proactive compliance across the organisation.

What you’ll deliver with us

Reporting to the Head of Industrial Relations and Reform, you’ll take ownership of the extended workforce compliance strategy and ensure consistent practices across all business areas, from Network Operations to Retail and Support Office. Success in this role means establishing a strong, integrated compliance framework, mitigating legal and reputational risks, and driving awareness across the business. You’ll collaborate closely with Legal, People & Culture, and operational leaders to embed compliance principles into everyday decision making and support the delivery of broader People & Culture and IR Reform strategies.

You’Ll Also

  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the extended workforce and advise on risk implications.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the Extended Workforce Compliance Framework, ensuring it remains aligned with current laws and operational needs.
  • Oversee targeted audits, reviews, and remediation programs to address compliance gaps across extended workforce arrangements.
  • Partner with business leaders and legal advisors to design and implement proactive compliance controls and sustainable commercial solutions.
  • Promote a strong compliance culture through training, engagement forums, and practical, commercially focused advice that supports operational excellence.

About You

You’re a trusted advisor with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for doing things the right way. You thrive in complex, fast paced environments and bring a solutions focused approach to every challenge. With your strong sense of integrity and commitment to collaboration, you build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation. You’re someone who balances legal precision with commercial pragmatism.

You’Ll Also Need

  • A degree qualification in Law and significant experience in employment and industrial law, regulatory compliance, or workforce governance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and applying industrial instruments, including Awards, Enterprise Agreements and Contract Determinations.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining compliance frameworks, leading audits or regulatory responses, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence across unions, regulators, and senior leaders.

How we’ll deliver for you

  • Hybrid work model (between the office, travel to relevant work sites and being based at home)
  • Be part of a collaborative as well as autonomous work environment
  • We deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day. They’re the TIES that bind our team together.
