The Suffolk County Council IT department provides technology support to our 6 directorates – Adult Social Care, Children and Young People Services, Corporate Services, Fire & Public Safety and Growth Highways and Infrastructure and Public Health and Communities.

Your role and responsibilities
You will have excellent troubleshooting and problem analysis skills, be a strong communicator and possess a good knowledge of the ITIL best practice framework. As this is a technical support role, a solid background in supporting line of business applications and associated technologies in a Windows Server environment would be advantageous.
- Lead on providing solutions to queries regarding Children and Young People Services applications and software.
- Channelling requests for help to appropriate functions for resolution.
- Monitoring progress of calls and keeping users informed.
You Will Need
- Experience working in an operational support role with line of business systems and databases.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience using varying technologies or applications including Windows Server, MS SQL and MySQL.

The Team
The IT Service, as part of the Corporate Services directorate, provides and supports Suffolk County Council’s technology requirements. You will be working alongside experts in network, server, storage, applications, devices, cyber security and first line support. The IT Service supports colleagues across the organisation to get the most from their technology provision within a flexible working environment.
