We have a new opportunity for an Internal Sales Executive to join our team at our branch located at BPX Leicester (LE7 7NL). We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic person to join our friendly team. This is a full-time, permanent position, where continuous sales development and training will be provided.

Job Purpose

As a key member of our Sales Team, you will be responsible for handling both domestic and export customer enquiries, managing our web-based customer workload, and ensuring that all clients receive the highest level of service. By utilising your excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, you will develop long-term relationships with our customers and suppliers, ensuring their requirements are understood, processed accurately, and delivered efficiently. You will also play a vital role in maintaining customer satisfaction by providing regular updates on order progress and back-order status.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming enquiries to sell and support the company’s full product range across both UK and export markets.
  • Manage and respond to export sales enquiries, ensuring compliance with export documentation and shipping requirements.
  • Proactively make outgoing calls to qualify prospects, follow up quotations, and close sales in order to meet individual and team targets.
  • Accurately process quotations and sales orders using in-house systems.
  • Administer and issue timely quotations using company quotation software.
  • Manage workload from web-based customer orders and enquiries, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
  • Provide regular updates to customers regarding the status of their orders and any outstanding back orders.
  • Ensure customer records are maintained and updated accurately within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Collate and maintain customer files and purchase orders in accordance with company standards.
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times, and delivery updates.
  • Interact with customers to resolve any issues or queries quickly and effectively.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in customer service.
  • Compile and coordinate information requested for management reporting purposes.
  • Carry out any other ad hoc duties as required by the Sales Office Manager.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong focus on helping the business grow.
  • Ideally a proven track record within an internal or export sales role.
  • Experience in handling both domestic and international customer enquiries.
  • Familiarity with web-based order management and e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy of orders, quotations, and export documentation.
  • Confident telephone manner and excellent customer interaction skills.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.
  • A passion for sales combined with an understanding of technical or engineering products is advantageous.
