Job Description

General Summary:

The Facilities Engineering Senior Specialist will provide support for Vertex facility equipment and systems to ensure maximized up time and minimal unplanned interruptions. This role will work to develop advanced knowledge in one or more of the following facility engineering related disciplines: metrology, mechanical or electrical systems, building controls or reliability. This role will support implementing and deploying best practices and continuous improvement within and across Vertex sites in a safe, consistent and compliant manner, under supervision.

Key Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Supports one or more Vertex facility related programs in support of building operations, under supervision
  • Supports directly or through influence internal and external resources to effectively execute assigned duties
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders across functions and sites, as required, to develop and maintain company procedures and standards, manage change, and trouble shoot equipment issues
  • Supports projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Assists with maintaining compliance with applicable locale, state, federal and international regulations as required
  • Supports the advancement of the World Wide Operations value added proposition as it applies to area of responsibility

Knowledge And Skills:

  • Developed verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to explain complex information to others in straightforward situations
  • Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed work environment
  • Experience with computer based systems and automation typical in R&D and Manufacturing facilities
  • Expanded conceptual knowledge base in area of responsibility
  • Knowledge of current applicable regulatory expectations
  • Experience supporting Research and Development, Process Development or GMP Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical or other regulated industry

Education And Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Discipline or Facility Management
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range:

$102,200 - $153,300

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
