Job Description
The Red Gate Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support a government customer in Washington, DC. The role will contribute to the JWICS Modernization initiative through senior-level consultation on strategic decision-making, technical solutions, and program management across multiple project areas including creative services, SharePoint architecture, division management engineering, solutions integration, and program/project management. The DevOps Engineer provides senior-level technical and strategic leadership in the areas of solutions integration, systems architecture, and lifecycle engineering. Serving as a key technical SME, this position supports enterprise IT transformation by integrating complex systems, optimizing infrastructure performance, and ensuring that design and operational decisions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced subject matter expertise in solutions integration engineering, systems design, and technical support across multi-domain IT environments.
- Provide comprehensive engineering and planning for IT infrastructure, WAN/LAN systems, and enterprise architecture to ensure seamless interoperability and scalability.
- Execute system integration and architecture activities across all phases of the lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
- Lead high-level architectural reviews and recommend improvements to ensure alignment with modernization strategies, security frameworks, and performance goals.
- Develop and maintain technical baselines and configuration standards to support system reliability, compliance, and future growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., cybersecurity, cloud engineering, DevSecOps, and data management) to drive integration efficiency and innovation.
- Provide expert guidance and operational leadership to ensure technical solutions remain responsive to evolving mission needs and emerging technologies.
- Serve as the primary SME for enterprise IT integration issues, advising Government and contractor leadership on risk mitigation, modernization options, and technical best practices.

Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI (CI Poly Preferred)
- Master’s degree and 10 years of experience or Bachelor's degree and 13 years of experience
- DoD and IC experience is desired.
- Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, AWS Solutions Architect, ITIL, or PMP
- Enterprise and system integration engineering
- DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD pipeline management
- Network and infrastructure architecture (WAN, LAN, cloud, hybrid environments)
- Automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Kubernetes)
- Systems design documentation and configuration management
- Have excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent creative problem-solving skills.
