Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a Network Engineer to support a government client in Washington, DC. The role will contribute to the JWICS Modernization initiative through expert consultation on strategic decision-making, technical solutions, and program management across multiple project areas including creative services, SharePoint architecture, division management engineering, solutions integration, and program/project management. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document processes supporting program protection elements, including Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Information Security, and Physical Security.
  • Ensure network designs and integration activities align with zero-trust principles, cross-domain protection requirements, and agency security standards.
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and optimize network hardware, routing protocols, switching fabric, WAN/LAN architectures, and cloud networking components.
  • Support the design and implementation of secure connectivity solutions across on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments.
  • Improve network automation and orchestration to enhance DevOps integration and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct advanced architecture analysis to assess network performance, resiliency, and integration readiness.
  • Create architecture artifacts, diagrams, and recommendations to guide modernization efforts.
  • Integrate secure networking solutions that improve cloud functionality, micro-segmentation, identity services, and traffic flow management.
  • Support implementation of network-based security controls (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, ZTNA, SD-WAN).
  • Serve as a senior designer responsible for defining the architectural framework for network-centric services and system features.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI (CI Poly Preferred)
  • Master’s degree and 10 years of experience or Bachelor's degree and 13 years of experience
  • DoD and IC experience is desired.
