Summary:

We are seeking a high-performing Field Sales Business Development Representative (BDR) to accelerate growth in our jeweler program segment. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic business relationships with jewelry retailers, appraisers, and industry partners to drive new policy acquisition and increase market share. 

As a key member of the sales organization, you’ll combine consultative selling, strategic prospecting, and territory management to deliver measurable revenue growth. You’ll act as a brand ambassador, ensuring our insurance solutions are top-of-mind with jewelry professionals and their clients.

What You’Ll Do:

Business Development & Sales Growth 

  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to partnership activation within your territory. 
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through cold outreach, lead generation, referrals, and networking. 
  • Develop tailored pitches and proposals for jewelry retailers, appraisers, and wholesalers to drive adoption of our insurance programs. 
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly KPIs, including revenue, partner activation, and policy conversion goals. 
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all sales activities, partner interactions, and pipeline status within the CRM. 
  • Represent the company at trade shows, regional jewelry expos, and networking events to strengthen industry presence. 

Territory & Relationship Management 

  • Conduct regular in-person visits, product training sessions, and joint marketing meetings with retail partners. Traveling 50%+ of time within territory 
  • Foster long-term relationships to increase partner loyalty, engagement, and cross-selling opportunities. 
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of regional market dynamics and competitor offerings to inform strategic territory planning. 
  • Provide actionable market feedback and insights to leadership to inform product enhancements and business strategy. 
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop local marketing campaigns and promotional materials that support lead generation.

What You’Ll Bring:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience) preferred.

Experience:

  • 3–7 years of proven success in business development, field sales, or channel sales — ideally within insurance, financial services, or the luxury goods/jewelry industry preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing a sales pipeline and consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets. 
  • Strong background in B2B relationship management, with the ability to influence and partner with independent business owners. 
  • Experience using data-driven sales approaches and CRM analytics to improve prospecting efficiency and close rates. 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Highly motivated self-starter with exceptional drive and a “hunter” mentality. 
  • Strong consultative and solution-based selling skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences. 
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities. 
  • Comfortable operating independently in the field, managing time, travel, and priorities effectively. 
  • Proficient in CRM software (Salesforce preferred), Microsoft 365, and digital sales tools.
