In this Manufacturing Engineering role, you will work actively on industrialization of battery pack manufacturing with a diverse, multi-functional team to specify, deliver and commission state-of-the-art processes and equipment to produce EV products that meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction in the New Energy Vehicles of tomorrow. Job Description:
We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive the development and launch of advanced manufacturing processes and equipment for our next generation battery pack programs. This role involves leading feasibility studies, ensuring quality, managing program execution, and collaborating across engineering and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive manufacturing engineering studies and feasibility assessments for battery pack programs from concept through launch.
- Develop robust manufacturing processes and manage the procurement, design, runoff, and successfully launch new equipment at Ford plant.
- Ensure rigorous quality standards, utilizing tools like PFMEA and Control Plans, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage program financial objectives, timing plans, and recovery actions, maintaining overall financial responsibility for assigned content.
- Collaborate extensively with product development, suppliers, and plant teams to resolve manufacturing concerns and ensure seamless program execution.
- Conduct Digital Pre-Assembly (DPA5) and Manufacturing Assessment (MA) reviews, identifying and incorporating necessary updates and high-hurt actions.
- Develop and deliver critical process documentation, specifications, and management review decks (e.g., Deep Dive Decks).
- Champion safety, ergonomics, productivity, and process conformity in all engineered solutions and equipment deployments.
- Drive investment efficiency and ensure timely delivery and adherence to all required OEM documentation and PTME strategies.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on powertrain, electrification, battery pack, or complex assembly processes.
- Proven experience with automotive launch processes and new program introduction.
- Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing feasibility studies, DPA5, MA assessments, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage financial responsibility and timing plans.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Ford strategies, Bill of Process, and MDS/MPS requirements.
- Must be a collaborator with willingness to take leadership role in project setting and have the ability and aptitude to manage technical aspects of the position.
