Summary

The Clinical Care Compliance Officer completes compliance and documentation audits on a regular cadence, ensures accurate and up-to-date knowledge of 245G, 245F, SLF, and mental health licensing requirements to assure clinical care programs are compliant with governing and licensing requirements, and leads external auditing efforts by the state, county, city, and other governing bodies.

The Clinical Care Compliance Officer must have current knowledge on all licensing requirements and documentation standards; must forge a positive working relationship with the billing department, clinical staff,; and must have experience working in Revenue Cycle Management. This position requires familiarity with all Microsoft office technologies, excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage inquiries with a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage a large volume of participant and facility data in a precise, confidential, and organized manor.

The Clinical Care Compliance Officer will participate in the annual license renewals for all programming under clinical care. She/he/they must have a working knowledge of funder compliance requirements to be able to answer questions from colleagues and participants about the licensing process.

Pay ranges from $55,000-$65,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Complete documentation audits for 245G and 245F programming on a regular cadence to assure accuracy and completion.
  • Develop processes for document completion when gaps are noted.
  • Disseminate accurate and current verbal and written information re: license requirements for individual programs under the clinical care scope.
  • Work closely with the clinical team, billing team, and external auditing/licensing bodies to assure seamless compliance with state and county requirements.
  • Audit clinical documentation for billing purposes and act as liaison between the programming staff and billing staff.
  • Oversee and stay up to date with statutory and regulatory changes with regards to DHS, MDH, ASAM criteria, and federal/state requirements for substance use treatment and mental health therapy.
  • Work closely with leadership in program areas to assure that all programs remain compliant and current with licensing and billing requirements.
  • Have a current working knowledge of the programs under clinical care purview, the scope of programs, and the various positions and license requirements of staff in programming.
  • Collect/manage compliance verifications/documentation needed for license renewals.
  • Regularly communicate with program representatives, provide training where necessary.
  • Safeguard personally identifiable health information (PHI) in accordance with duties and current agency HIPAA notification statement and standards.
  • Attains, maintains and promotes a positive, safe, harmonious, productive and challenging work environment.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Successful experience working in substance use and/or mental health treatment
  • Experience working with diverse cultural groups preferred.
  • Well organized, motivated, and goals and detail oriented.
  • Experience with 245F, 245G, SLF licensing and billing
  • Excellent oral and written communication and management skills.
  • Excellent Computer Skills.

  • Possess sound personal judgment and strong time management skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image.
  • Must be able to pass favorable criminal history/background check.
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds with multiple barriers.
