Clarity On The Role:

Wellvana is looking for an Art Director to join their Experience team. This role will aid in conceptualizing and lead the creation of memorable campaigns, content, and marketing to further Wellvana’s mission to make primary care life-changing.

Our ideal candidate possesses a desire to learn and grow, has an incredible attention to detail, is a skilled communicator, can think big, execute flawlessly, and deliver design solutions that are on brand, emotionally resonant, and audience relevant.

A true “jack of all trades”, you will support across a wide range of mediums and formats that span print, digital, and environmental collateral, art direction for video and photo, email and direct mail campaigns, and occasionally, UX/UI.

Versatility is a pre-requisite, and you will need to be comfortable shifting between creative concepting, execution, and production level tasks. Candidates should possess a portfolio that can demonstrate both a strong eye and design thinking. Whether you’re coming from an agency setting or are in-house without healthcare experience; all designers are welcome to apply.

This position is hybrid and ideally works from Nashville headquarters at least 3 days per week. Some travel may be required.

The role reports to the Director of Creative, will partner with the Sr. Brand Designer, and work closely with Content Strategy, CRM, Events, Editorial, Growth, and Partner Success.

What'S Expected:

  • A Seasoned Executer: You can take a project from strategy and insights to innovative concepts and creative completion.
  • Brand Steward: Help strengthen (and expand) Wellvana’s brand identity system and sub-brands to address ever evolving nuances within our provider, patient, and health system audiences.
  • Skilled Communicator: You’ll own every aspect of a project timeline with minimal oversight, communicating any flags or issues proactively to help manage project stakeholder expectations.
  • Problem Solver: You are skilled at identifying and executing unexpected solutions and can effectively bring along stakeholders and articulate design decisions.
  • Design Thinker: Gather and implement feedback from key team members to build thoughtful and considered designs that address key insights and strategy.
  • Creative Champion: Advocate for your ideas, elevate others, and operate collaboratively and diplomatically in everything you do.

Requirements

What’s Required: Live Out the Wellvana Way

  • Find a way. Be accountable, see the work through, make it life-changing.
  • Ask the why question. The conventional wisdom is often wrong. Be curious and always connect your work back to the goal and audience.
  • Move on what matters: Prioritize the work and be laser focused on what moves the needle.
  • Expect to win: Confidence is contagious. Bring solutions.
  • You can’t do it alone. And you’re not expected to. We work best when we’re a team. Silos slow us down. Collaboration and communication are the fast way... and the fun way.

Characteristics Of The Right Candidate:

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts, Fine Arts, Communication or related field preferred.

Related Experience:

  • 7+ years of professional graphic design experience including branding, print layout, and digital practices.
  • Should possess a proven portfolio showcasing thoughtful and well executed creative.
  • Ready to roll up your sleeves and become an expert in healthcare (if you’re not already).
  • Experience with in-house brands is helpful but not required.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Figma.
  • Working knowledge of HTML / CSS and experience working in ESP platforms (Braze, Lob, or equivalent) a huge plus.
  • Should be comfortable and proficient within presentation software (PowerPoint and Figma).
  • Experience with taking content across multiple media (digital, social, blog, etc.)
  • Should be comfortable in working across multiple projects in different stages of production.
  • Proven experience as a curious self-starter with an elevated level of creative thinking.
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines without compromising quality and standards.
  • Proven experience as a collaborative team player who enjoys working with other internal and external stakeholders.
