About the role
This role will report into Tesco's legal team based in Bengaluru and support Tesco's UK-based Tesco's Heads of Legal for Litigation and Employment (UK), predominantly in relation to mass action litigation. The role will also support with Litigation work streams including liaising with internal stakeholders and external lawyers / advisors.

You will be responsible for Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence and have these specific risk responsibilities: Mass action litigation: You will work closely with Tesco's UK-based Heads of Legal for Litigation and Employment, and Tesco's external solicitors, producing written work and updates to both teams. This will include: • Horizon scanning (including press and social media searches) and preparing regular (daily) summaries of relevant updates. • Updating and maintaining trackers with details of claims brought, withdrawn or amended and preparing monthly status updates. • Renewing annual document hold notice distribution; updating and maintaining document preservation trackers with details of internal document custodians, in-scope systems and third parties who hold documents relevant to the claim. Responding to ad hoc internal queries re same. • Monitoring internal mailbox for business queries relating to the Equal Pay litigation and preservation of documents relevant to the claim. • Reviewing and running searches against internal documents to fact-find in response to queries and prepare summaries of findings. • Making internal inquiries within Tesco to answer factual questions from external solicitors and reporting back to solicitor team. Wider Litigation support: • Information and document gathering from internal Tesco stakeholders in response to queries from the business and external lawyers / advisors. • Preparing and distributing Document Preservation Notices for new and ongoing matters, maintaining tracker of responses and leading annual refreshers. • Investigating and resolving bailiff letters, warrants of control and other low value payment demands (with supervision from the Group Litigation team). • Horizon scanning and sharing internal updates re relevant litigation and retail industry news. • Contributing to the maintenance of legal templates, process-maps and best-practice guides.
You will need Excellent project management skills and ability to manage numerous projects5+ years' experience, preferably at a leading law firm or legal outsourcing firm.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with excellent attention to detailStrong interpersonal skills and highly team-orientated, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across all parts of the business. • A readiness to work on a broad range of matters and develop your knowledge of the business quickly. • The ability to work independently and cross-functionally under pressure. -Good expertise in Litigation support in a multinational organisation/LPO
