Job Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a global top-tier company’s largest global subsidiary as a leader/change agent to drive changes and innovation of the Compliance division as well as the enterprise. The Compliance team is on a journey to shift to a true global function under new leadership. We seek to hire compliance manager(s)/staff(s) at the Head Office (Tokyo). Based on an assessment of the final candidate, the most suitable role we believe would be offered among a couple of designed positions.
The successful candidate will oversee local and global compliance implementation, risk assessment, and regulatory reporting and proactively coordinate with the Center of Excellence at the Global Compliance team in NY.
Job Responsibilities
• Implement and maintain local internal policies and procedures aligned with amendments and updates to applicable global policies, laws and regulations.
• Design, develop and execute annual compliance programs based on Compliance Risk Assessment.
• Prepare and manage compliance reporting and dashboards to local management and global compliance function.
• Provide advisory services to employees and local management on compliance issues.
• Partner with sales, operations, claims and other functional leaders to strengthen compliance across processes.
• Design and implement internal training on compliance matters.
• Execute liaison and coordination with relevant regulatory authorities regarding compliance matters and inquiries.
• Prepare various filings and reports for regulatory authorities and industry associations.
• Handling incidents involving employees.
• Explore data, digital and technology as well as agile ways of working to tackle new areas of emerging Compliance risks of the company and share the knowledge and expertise to the Compliance team to work as One Team.

Required Skills and Experiences
【Educational Qualification】
Bachelor’s degree or above
【Specific Qualifications】
・Legal writing and interpretation skills
・Attorney, JD, MBA and/or any equivalent qualification may be preferred
・Background in Audit, Consulting, or other control-related functions is a plus. Experience in financial/insurance industry is even better.
【Total Experience】
・More than 5 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Risk Management or any relevant field
・MS Office Suite skills
・Native level Japanese; business level English
*Depending on skills and experience, job grades are expected to be between G20 and G22.
