Position Overview

This position serves as a strategic advisor to a set of business leaders providing both consultative and operational support. The Business Partner proactively addresses and resolves routine and complex issues by applying HR best practices, policy knowledge, and experience. The Business Partner is responsible for implementing and delivering Human Resources related strategies, policies, analyses, training, and services that create, support, and sustain a high-performing workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and lead a variety of human capital initiatives, related to strategic workforce planning, succession planning, and employee engagement
  • Provide guidance to leaders and employees at all levels regarding interpretation of policies, procedures, and standard processes
  • Advise and support on employee relations issues, ensuring legal compliance and consistent application of HR policies
  • Conduct thorough, impartial, and unbiased investigations
  • Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity, and retention
  • Manage the annual performance review process and check-in process, providing support to leaders on performance management
  • Partner with Title IX Office on reports involving employees as needed
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies
  • Contribute to an environment focused on continuous improvement for the HR team
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or a related field 
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Human Resources Business Partner or HR advisory role.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and employee relations
  • Understanding of change management principles, techniques, and tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and use strong emotional intelligence, discretion, and confidentiality in all interactions
  • Proven ability to build and cultivate relationships and work collaboratively to gain support, influence others, and achieve results
  • Demonstrated skill in prioritizing competing work assignments and conflicting priorities to deliver actionable items
  • Skilled in communicating clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Innovative thinking skills to provide solutions to business processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on productive outcomes and client service excellence
  • Demonstrated analytical skills 

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
  • Higher Education HR experience
