The Senior Tax Analyst - as part of the VAT team - plays a key role in ensuring VAT compliance and contributes to the evolution of the future team towards standardized and digitalized indirect Tax solution for Solar Turbines.

What will be your tasks/responsibilities?

  • Timely preparation and submission of VAT returns on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis and coordination for claim-back of foreign VAT if applicable
  • Complete VAT control checklists on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis as appropriate
  • Perform various accounting tasks regarding EAME VAT: analyze VAT transactions, filing of VAT returns in EAME countries, preparation and recording of accounting entries relating to VAT accounts, organizing, tracking, and maintaining records of tax/VAT payments
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts in multi company currency environment
  • Deal professionally and efficiently with VAT enquiries from internal and external business partners
  • Provide VAT advice to the business and work with other departments (AP/AR) on VAT issues that arise to provide solutions in line with fiscal compliance. Involved in VAT aspects of various projects.
  • Ensuring VAT compliance and identifying risk to minimize VAT liabilities and compliance issues
  • Liaises with internal VAT partners & ensures correct mapping of VAT codes & correct coding of all postings from ERPLN
  • Assisting with VAT audits and routine queries from various Tax authorities in EAME
  • Keep up to date on changes in VAT legislation & ensure timely implementation of new rules that impact Solar Turbines
  • Contribute actively to improve the KPIs around Indirect Tax.
  • Look for opportunities in simplification and digitalization of end-to-end process
  • Work on challenging, low to medium risk issues, make decisions and recommendations as appropriate and escalate as necessary to supervisor.
  • Collaborate with external VAT partners as necessary.
  • Performs other job-related duties specified by the Employer.

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance / accounting required with tax orientation preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Accounting and International VAT reporting at least 3 years (expertise in Italian VAT matters would be an asset)
  • Strong organizational skills to meet critical deadlines
  • High initiative for process improvements to increase efficiency
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Ability to perform a quality work independently as an individual contributor and in teams of international organization
  • English language skill is a must / other language(s) is a bonus (preferably Italian)
  • Experienced with excel
  • Accounting Certification is an asset
