Job Summary:
The Field Revenue Auditor (FRA) is responsible for increasing collections on bad debt, reducing unauthorized service usage, and identifying opportunities for additional revenue. This role contributes to improving routing accuracy, accounts receivable, and uncovering new revenue sources. Through fieldwork and project execution, the FRA gains a comprehensive understanding of daily hauling operations by reviewing financial statements, conducting field audits, and adhering to all safety standards and practices.
Reports To: General Manager
Essential Job Duties:
- Collaborate with Operations Management and other auditors to gather detailed account information.
- Utilize documents provided by the Municipal team to understand town contracts and billing cycles.
- Maintain accurate master files with notes on each account, town, and route, indicating review status and follow-up needs.
- Maintain open communication with supervisors to report project statuses and avoid duplication of efforts.
- Conduct internal and external audits in compliance with company procedures and auditing standards.
- Share findings and collaborate with other FRAs to refine audit plans and strategies.
- Audit commercial routes to identify discrepancies in collected material volumes.
- Use 3rdEye AI imaging software to determine account details, service dates, and potential charges for excess materials.
- Notify management when beginning and completing a route review process.
- Initiate billing adjustments as needed and report findings daily.
- Collect and record data such as material volume, service date, route, and supporting images.
- Track frequency of extra charges per account and report updates during follow-up meetings.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to calculate averages and prepare data presentations for senior management.
- Prepare field audits for residential areas using Trux and Tower 7 to extract relevant data into Excel.
- Analyze spreadsheets to identify delinquent accounts based on payment history, location, and account status.
- Visualize and map account areas using Google MyMaps to identify and assess delinquent customers.
- Export mapped data into Circuit for Teams to plan efficient audit routes.
- During field audits, use Circuit to take photos, log observations, and recommend the appropriate course of action post-audit.
- Export route address data to Excel to verify account type, bin size, address, and customer number.
- Review financial and service records to assess service frequency and accuracy.
- Create and draw route boundaries on custom Google MyMaps layers.
- Use Trux and Tower 7 to identify and add pins for serviced homes not listed in current databases.
- Maintain updated spreadsheets documenting unlisted accounts and service variations.
- Use Circuit for Teams to plan routes for container tagging and field verification.
- Prepare detailed audit reports with findings and actionable recommendations.
- Submit weekly and monthly reports as directed.
- Track audit outcomes in personal notes and update official documentation accordingly.
- Communicate results to management and support the implementation of strategic revenue recovery plans.
- Learn industry terminology and container capacity standards quickly.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks.
- Contribute to company success by embracing new tasks, finding improvement opportunities, and adding value through initiative.

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree preferred but not required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Regularly required to talk and hear, both in person and by phone or web meetings.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to read and interpret data on a computer screen or printed documents.
- Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels, in a climate-controlled environment with heating and air conditioning.
- May be required to move around the work site and may be exposed to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- May be exposed to high noise levels from trucks and machinery while outside typical office setting.
Travel Required:
- Travel will be required into the field.
