We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator/Staff Accountant to serve as an integral part of our team. This is a key position in the day-to-day operations of the company. The Payroll Coordinator/Staff Accountant gathers, tracks, and analyzes time submitted by the field staff to assist in the weekly posting of payroll. This position rolls up this information to the business level to provide information on current performance and financial outlooks.
This position will be based out of our Lexington, KY headquarters.
Position Requirements
- Ability to pro-actively and cooperatively engage field personnel to gather needed data including field verification
- Analyzing data collected to identify trends and forecast financial health and outlook of projects and the region
- Compare forecasted information vs. actual information to continuously improve accuracy and quality of information provided to projects and the region
- Use of historical data to benchmark performance
- Assist in managing change orders and other project accounting functions
- Analyze financial data, analyze and explain variances and support management decision processes
- Provide support on month-end closing including all inventory, COGS and margin schedules required to close the books
- Review subcontractor performance to conform to contract financial agreements and schedules
- Ability to prepare, review and interpret project schedules
- Ability to prepare schedule of values and projected cash flow prior to contract execution.
- Ability to accurately track and project cash flow through a project’s lifecycle
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong technical accounting and financial analysis skills;
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
- Knowledge of the electrical construction industry or relevant industry knowledge
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections;
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organization levels, including senior management;
- Ability to investigate, analyze critical situations in a non-emotional manner is vital;
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, and problem-solving methodology;
- Strong excel skills;
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products preferred.
