Primary Responsibilities
- Handling all administrative duties such as email and calendar management, coordinating meetings, processing incoming and outgoing mail, preparing expense reports, reconcile VISA tracking spreadsheets, processing of invoices and disbursements.
- Preparing and maintaining a bring-forward system as well as providing appropriate reminders.
- Under legal professional supervision, preparing initial drafts of correspondence, documents based on precedents and/or instructions.
- Ensuring all physical and electronic filing is organized and up to date on a regular basis.
- Delegating tasks to, and coordinating with, other administrative departments.
- Providing backup coverage in the absence of other assistants.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Completion of a post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk course
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a law firm
- In-depth understanding of business and legal terminology.
- Strong technical skills using MS Office 365
- Experience working with 3E, iManage Work
- Experience with SEDAR, SEDI, the Ontario Securities Commission and the National Registration Database would be an asset.
