What You’ll Do
- Lead the electrical design of projects across municipal, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure markets
- Develop and review electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Coordinate closely with mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural teams to deliver integrated designs
- Provide technical guidance, quality control, and design oversight throughout project lifecycles
- Serve as a key technical resource for project teams and clients, offering solutions to complex design challenges
- Perform drawings, specifications, plan markups and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Support project planning, scope development, and fee proposals from a technical perspective
- Interface with clients, utilities, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed
- Stay current on electrical codes, MEP trends, and emerging technologies and apply best practices to projects
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, tools, and processes across the firm
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of professional electrical engineering experience, with a strong MEP background
- Experience working in a consulting engineering environment
- PE license preferred but not required
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, local codes, and industry standards
- Experience working with municipal water/wastewater projects is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead projects technically without formal direct reports
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines
- High level of organization, accountability, and attention to detail
